Itinerary


Day01 Delhi

Arrive Delhi, Met at the airport & transfer to the Hotel. Day at leisure to relax.

Day02 Delhi

we proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting the Jama Masjid - Built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, the Jama Masjid is the largest and one of the most magnificent mosques in India, drive past the Red Fort built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648, Drive through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk- Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square) is opposite the Red Fort and is a market that hubs with activity all through the year. The area was laid out by Shahjahan's daughter, Jahanara. The water in a pool reflected the moonlight and then flowed into a channel that flowed through the avenue. It is a crowded place and Normally there is a maze of traffic that one has to negotiate almost every second. & lastly visit Raj Ghat, the memorial built for Mahatma Gandhi.

Afternoon, half day sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting the Qutab Minar - Qutab Minar, the 239ft sandstone tower is an Indo-Islamic architectural wonder of ancient India. The complex has a number of other important monuments- the gateway built in 1310, also visit the Humanyun's tomb - One of the most spectacular Mughal buildings, Humanyun's tomb was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1993. Built by Haji Begum, the widow of Humanyun's, the second Mughal Emperor, the mausoleum is known to the precursor of world famous Taj Mahal. Built with a cost of one and a half million rupees, the monument heralded the construction of garden-tombs on the Indian subcontinent & lastly drive through Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate & other important government buildings. An English speaking guide will be accompanying you for the entire sightseeing tour.

Day03 Delhi-Jaipur

After breakfast leave for Jaipur by surface (240 Kms/ 5 Hrs approximately). Arrive Jaipur & transfer to Hotel.

Day04 Jaipur

Breakfast at Hotel. Morning, half day excursion to Amber the old capital of Jaipur rulers. Ride on back of an elephant from the foot of the hill up to the gates of the fortress. Afternoon, half day sight seeing tour of Jaipur visiting the Maharaja's Museum and Jai Singh Astronomical Observatory and Hawa Mahal.

Day05 Jaipur-Mandawa

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast leave for Mandawa by surface (175 Kms/ 5 Hrs approximately). Arrive Mandawa & transfer to the Hotel. Mandawa, a remote feudal principality in the centre of the Shekhawati region, was a trading outpost for the ancient caravan routes that stopped here from China and the Middle East. The township that grew around the fort soon attracted a large community of traders, who settled here. Afternoon visit the enormous Havelis with fascinating murals and painted frescoes built by the wealthy Rajasthan merchants ("Marwaris") in the 19th century. The havelis are mansion of a unique residential architectural style that evolved around courtyards to serve the purpose of family security, privacy for the women as also protecting the inhabitants from the long, harsh summers.

Day06 Mandawa-Bikaner

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave for Bikaner by surface (200 Kms/4 hrs approximately). Lying in the north of the desert state, the city is dotted with scores of sand dunes. Bikaner retains the medieval grandeur that permeates the city's lifestyle. More readily called the camel country; the city is distinguished for the best riding camels in the world and hence boasts of having one of the largest Camel research and breeding farm in the world. The ship of the desert is an inseparable part of life here. A camel besides doing transportation duties, also works on wells. Arrive Bikaner & transfer to the hotel. Afternoon proceed for the city sightseeing visiting the Junagarh fort, Lalgarh fort & Karni Mata temple.

Day07 Bikaner-Fort Pokharan

Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Fort Pokharan by surface (240 kms/6 hrs approx). Fort Pokharan the 14th century citadel also known as “Balagarh” stands as a paragon amidst the Thar Desert. This monument is the premier fort of The Chief of Mighty Champawats (the clan of Rathores) Surrounded with rocky, sandy and five salt ranges; POKARAN means “the place of five mirages”. Fort Pokharan stands on ancient trade route that carried salt, silk and spices to Persia and beyond. The fort now attracts travellers to stay betwixt the glorious history where each stone speaks out volumes of the past.

Day08 Pokharan-Jaisalmer

Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Jaisalmer by surface (110 kms/ 2 hrs approximately). Arrive Jaisalmer & transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer visiting the Jaisalmer fort & havelies. Evening camel ride to the sand dunes.

Day09 Jaisalmer-Rohetgarh

Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Rohetgarh by surface (320 Kms/ 6 Hrs approximately). Arrive Rohet & transfer to the Hotel. Rohet Garh is a classified Heritage Hotel. Over the course of fifteen years it has been nurtured and developed with great love and care by the family into one of the finest Heritage hotels in the country. No new building has been added in the renovation process, but rather, old edifices have been skillfully redesigned to create a heritage property that has few parallels. Situated on the banks of a lake and set in the midst of rural surroundings, it is a haven of peace and tranquility. Sprawling lawns and manicured gardens, which invite a multitude of birds and dancing peacocks, herald your entry into this oasis where the bird song is the only sound you will hear.

Day10 Rohet-Jodhpur-Rohet

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast, visit the blue city of Jodhpur. Sightseeing of Jodhpur visit the Mehrangarh fort & Jaswant Thada.

Day11 Rohetgarh-Rawla Jojawar

Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Rawla Jojawar by surface (135 kms/3 hrs approximately). Arrive Rawla Jojawar & transfer to the Hotel. Rawla Jojawar is created after lovingly renovating the old fort which has always been home to a stunningly beautiful boutique hotel. Here generations of their family have lived since 1780, where the patriarch Thakur or Chief in their position as garrison commanders of this border town of Marwar with Mewar – both ancient kingdoms and often bitter enemies. Jojawar beckons the visitor to explore it; the small town is a hidden gem in the county, exploring it on foot accompanied by one of the staff guides is a great way to experience life here as it unfolds before your eyes. There are some specially designed late afternoon tours which take you to homesteads of these Rabaris, into farms, through pretty little hamlets where time seems to have stopped, and we take a break under the shade of a drooping acacias next to a very beautiful small shrine dedicated to a folk deity. Some routes had to be excavated so as to see as much in the given time. The endeavor is to make your excursions interactive and not merely a drive in the country. Unlike any other, the jeep safaris here are undertaken in a fleet of classic vintage vehicles – which makes the whole experience very special.

Day12 Deogarh – Udaipur

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave for Udaipur by surface (135 kms/ 3 hrs approx) enroute sightseeing tour of Ranakpur temples. Ranakpur is tucked away in a remote valley in the Aravali range. It is situated around 60 km north of Udaipur in Pali district and boasts of one of the largest and most important Jain Temples in the country. Arrive Udaipur & transfer to the Hotel.

Day13 Udaipur

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Udaipur visiting the city palace, Lok kala museum, and sahelion-ki-bari. Later in the evening enjoy a boat ride in the Lake Pichola.

Day14 Udaipur-Delhi

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast transfer to the airport to board flight to Delhi. Arrive Delhi & connect International flight back home.
